- Allegheny County Busts Another Video Poker Parlor
It seems that when Allegheny County said that they were bound and
determined to put an end to illegal video poker, they weren’t kidding.
Week after week you hear stories of video poker busts that the county
has performed and this week is no different.
Kenneth J. Angelo and his firm Angelo Amusements are the latest to be
busted in the county’s illegal video poker ring roundup. The vending
firm is accused of operating an illegal gambling business. He is also
looking at charges of conspiracy, corrupt organization, and dealing
with proceeds of unlawful activities and gambling devices.
In a countywide raid of illegal video poker businesses, Angelo and his
company were part of a seizure of 248 video poker machines. They were
valued at approximately $3,000 each. He owned roughly half of the
video poker machines, while Harry M. Murray Amusement Company out of
McKeesport owned the other half.
Murray Amusement’s officers were arrested last week on charges similar
to those facing Angelo. An employee of Angelo Amusements has made a
statement condemning the company and is willing to testify against
them.
