Video Poker 247
- Where’s the Love for Video Poker?
Pennsylvania has lots of video poker and slot machines in bars across
the state. They were actually considering legalizing those small
gambling operations so that they could get a piece of the proverbial
pie. However, now that slot machines have been legalized in
Pennsylvania, the state wants to see those video poker and slot
machines gone.
The reason is the smaller video poker and slots games are cutting into
their profits, so any support that those that run the games were
getting is now gone. They are giving grants to the various police
departments across the state to help them with the manpower of
reducing the number of video poker and slot machines that are out
there.
They have given Hazleton $72,000, Bloomsburg got $39,000, and Upper
St. Claire, near Pittsburgh, got $89,444 in February. The state is not
stopping there though, for they have other monies that they can give
out so as to reduce the number of video poker and slot machines that
are still operating in these establishments.
Some that got the grant are using it to sweep the area looking for
illegal video poker machines, while some are simply waiting to see
where the video poker games are and then shutting them down. They say
that they have more important things on their list than making sure
that the state’s video poker games are all packed up and gone.
