Video Poker 247
- Are You Feeling Lucky?
Many colleges and universities across the nation are concerned with
the high number of those that participate in video poker or gambling
online through their computers in their dorm rooms. The problem is
that what starts out as fun or as an attempt to make some extra money
quickly goes downhill and becomes a problem instead.
Most college students cannot afford to lose large chunks of money, and
yet that is what has been happening. Some of them say that they do it
for fun, but others admit that what started as fun isn’t any more.
Some of them don’t even participate online; they hold poker
tournaments in their dorm rooms and rake in the cash that way. It is
becoming more of a business and a disease than it is a fun past time
for many students.
Those that seem to have their heads on right say that the gambling is
about trying to figure out the game. They don’t care if they lose or
win – they are truly playing the game just to play it. They say that
there is a certain amount of competitiveness with the video poker and
gambling and they enjoy the outlet.
One student said that his family used to go out together and play
video poker and the slot machines together. He says that although his
uncle, his grandfather and his father seemed to have a problem with
online video poker playing and gambling he does not; at least for now,
anyway.
