Video Poker 247
- Latest Poker Raid Has Ties to Previous One
It seems that there are people arrested this past weekend were
involved in a poker ring back in 2006. Last Friday night, a ten month
investigation into another poker ring came to a head with the raid of
Martin Orlando Reyes’ home located in Hanahan. Investigators obtained
191 warrants and charged 65 people in the poker raid.
However, some of the people involved in this raid were also involved
in one back in 2006 at a Mount Pleasant home. Bob Chimento and 23
other participants were charged with illegal gambling when they were
raided by police. Two years later, Chimento has been caught again.
But he is not the only one, there were several other people that were
charged in the Mt. Pleasant raid in attendance when the Hanahan bust
went down. But Chimento is still waiting trial for the last one, and
is looking forward to his day in court. He says the likening of what
they do in these homes to the same idea as video poker is outrageous.
They know that video poker is illegal, and they don’t have any part of
that. However, they say that a friendly game of poker at someone’s
homes should not be the target of a police investigation.
Police disagree and say that tens of thousands of dollars are moved at
these games. They say that they have a professional operation going
on, and it is illegal per South Carolina law.
