Video Poker 247
- Video Poker Bust in Charlotte County
Charlotte County, Florida, was the site of several illegal video poker
busts Saturday night. The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office and the
Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco found three different
locations where they were holding illegal gambling.
They went to Coyote’s, Chubby’s, and the Loony Binn, and all three
were found to be illegal video poker locations. All of the locations
are restaurant/bars – but with the illegal gambling that was going on
all of the owners are now facing heavy fines and jail time.
At Coyote’s, officers seized three video poker machines, and although
no one was there playing at the time of the bust – they say that the
heavy hitters were the ones that played there. They also said that had
anyone been caught playing the video poker machines, they would have
been taken to jail as well. Officers said that they were finding as
much as $50,000 per video poker machine.
Police say that those that are participating in the illegal video
poker need to realize that you will go to jail if you are caught doing
it. They are really cracking down on the number of illegal gambling
games across the state as they see this kind of large gambling
steadily growing.
Each of the owners of the illegal video poker establishments are
looking at up to five years in jail. They will also have to pay a
$5,000 fine for the illegal gambling hall.
