Video Poker 247 - How To Play Video Poker

Instead of playing slot machines every time you go to Vegas, or even online, why not give video poker a try? Not only is it similar to playing the slot machines, but video poker actually gives you a chance at winning. Instead of hoping for a win, you can play video poker and influence the outcome of the game, instead of leaving it up to the randomness of a slot machine. Plus, you get a better house edge in video poker than you do in slots.

Video poker is much like draw poker on a slot machine in such that you don’t have other players to look at, and there are no dealers, bluffing, cheating, etc. – it is all about how well you play the game of poker. Because that is what video poker is, poker without all the extras.

First you have to look at the video poker game that you are playing. Some have 52 cards, others have additional wild cards. No matter which video poker game you play, it is like playing the traditional game, so you do have to have a basic knowledge of poker and hand rankings. So you start pretty much like a slot machine in that you choose how many coins you want to bet, and the coin value that you want to play.

Then you click deal, and look at the five cards you get to play. You can keep as many or as few as you want to, and discard the rest. You can even get rid of them all if you want. After “holding” the ones that you want to, push deal again and you will get new cards in place of the discarded ones.

It all depends on what you get as to whether you win or lose at video poker, and then depending on what you bet that will determine how much you get if you have won. Each video poker machine is different, so you should look at it before you play. Video poker odds are the same as regular card poker, and each video poker machine has RNG so it really is possible to get any kind of hand, and thus a win.
