Video Poker 247
- Gaming Expo Starts With a Bang
This year’s American Gaming Association’s Global Gaming Expo started
off with a bang – literally. The historic New Frontier Casino & Hotel
was imploded to make way for another Las Vegas mega casino to come in.
The overseas gaming group needed the space to start building their new
casino, and that means that history has to go.
With cranes and construction seemingly everywhere you go in Las Vegas
these days, it would seem that each time you come to play your
favorite video poker game, etc. the city will be completely different
from the last time that you were there. Buildings going up, buildings
coming down, it is an ever changing landscape.
However, as a way to kick off the Global Gaming Expo, demolishing one
casino to make way for another could not have seemed more perfect. The
expo is a chance for people in the video poker and gambling industry
to get together to see what kinds of goodies the industry has to show
for itself this year. They are assured to see new technologies as well
as old ones revamped.
In addition to getting to walk around and see the newest video poker
or slot machine offerings, there are also lots of seminars that can be
attended that give some insight into the industry. There is talk of
what is coming, who is going, and where they all think that the UIGEA
might be headed. But above all else, it is a chance to see where the
video poker, etc. industry is taking us.
