Video Poker 247
- Gulfstream Cuts Slots, Keeps Video Poker
Gulfstream Park Racing and Casino in Broward County, Florida has
decided to increase their focus on video poker games and lessen their
focus on regular slot machines. They announced today that they are
going to cut the number of slot machines that they currently offer, so
that they can change their approach to quality instead of quantity.
The company says that they are going to cut back the number of slot
machines that they offer from 1,200 to 516 – which is a major change
for the company. The racino will still offer 825 slot machines and
video poker games after all is said and done, but they think that
their focus should be on the video poker instead of the slots right
now.
Magna Entertainment owns the facility and they say that they are
looking to head a new direction and “marry [their] horse racing fans
with video poker slots players.” They think that they may have put the
focus on the slots instead of the video poker players and the horse
racing fans.
They say that by getting rid of as many slot machines as they have,
that they will be able to offer more areas for simulcasting and thus
start catering to their race fans instead. They hope to have it
completed by the middle of the month.
They think the change will be good for both the video poker players
and the horse racing fans, and the company believes that this is the
best possible outlet for both groups.
