Video Poker 247
- Raid Turns Up Cash and Video Poker Machines
According to authorities, an 81 year old restaurant owner and two of
his employees have been arrested during a video poker raid. Charleston
County deputies raided Pappy’s, which is located in Hanahan, this past
Thursday after investigating the site for more than four months.
During the raid, the police found 34 video poker machines and more
than $400,000 in video poker proceeds. You would think they would have
learned, as this is not the first time they have gotten into trouble
for owning video poker machines.
Police say that this is the third time that they have found illegal
video poker machines in the establishment. They were warned last time
that they needed to stay out of trouble with the video poker machines,
but obviously chose not to listen.
Joe Williamson, the owner of the establishment and hence the video
poker machines, was arrested and charged with gambling. Two of his
employees, June Polos, 63, and Patrick Henry Roberts, 72, were also
arrested for the video poker gambling.
As video poker is illegal in South Carolina for the past seven years,
and he has been in trouble for this before, Williamson knew that the
machines were illegal. South Carolina has been issuing a crackdown on
the illegal video poker machines, and has seized more than a thousand
of them since January.
