Many people may not know it but International Game Technology, or IGT, is responsible for developing and acquiring the original patent for video poker. They are known for their quality video poker games, but that could have a lot to do with the fact that they have been at it for so long. So long in fact, that they are now looking to change things up a bit.

Walk into any casino and you will see IGT’s video poker machines as they have a strong presence wherever you end up. This makes it difficult for the other video poker manufacturers to compete, but they try. Well, it is about to get a whole lot harder for them.

IGT is working to develop additional themes outside of their core product. They are taking many of their older video poker games and changing the face of them. They are also working on developing new and interesting ideas for video poker that are sure to take the game to a whole new level.

At the Global Gaming Expo, many were excited to see the changes that IGT had already begun to bring to the video poker world, and according to experts they aren’t done yet. One thing that they have done is add a sixth coin feature to the video poker games, which changes the whole five coin max that has come to be fairly standard in video poker games.

They are now bringing what is called the “buy-a-pay” feature to the video poker market. They say that by changing it up, and adding bonus features, they don’t have to change the pay table at all. One of the newest video poker games to offer the changes is Ultimate 4-of-a-kind Bonus Poker. They believe that people will really enjoy the new games.
