Video Poker 247
- Man Gets Video Poker Games Back
James Ronald Fyre, Jr. has to be one of the luckiest men alive. He was
running an illegal video poker establishment and is walking away from
it almost clean as a whistle. Frye is using a loophole in the law to
let him not only keep his video poker machines, but to not serve jail
time as well.
Frye, 63, was running an illegal video poker parlor at Bourbon Street
Amusements. Police received a tip that they had the illegal video
poker games in there and after collecting evidence they raided the
place in August. They seized the video poker machines and arrested
Frye.
They charged him with operating illegal video poker machines, gambling
and serving alcohol without a permit. However, they forgot to check
the law before proceeding. It seems that it is not illegal in North
Carolina to have the video poker machines as long as you have not been
convicted of a crime already and Frye had not been.
Frye is getting back his video poker machines, his chips and cards,
two guns and more than $2,000 in cash – all of which was seized by
police during the raid. All of the charges except the illegal alcohol
sales have been dropped as the video poker machines were taken during
the raid.
