Video Poker 247
- Medford Trial Continues
Former Sheriff Bobby Medford and his deputies are still in jail for
charges stemming from an alleged illegal video poker operation that
they were running. However, it seems that there are several plea deals
going on now that could change the way that each of them are being
handled in as far as the FBI is concerned.
Medford has waived his rights to an arraignment on additional charges.
Ronnie Eugene “Butch” Davis has also appeared in federal court Friday
to file a similar waiver. Two men charges against his friend, Jack
Shepherd have pled guilty to running the illegal video poker ring and
will testify for the government.
Shepherd is accused of operating the illegal video poker business and
the government has come after him for the charges. Now with Shepherd
and Hot Dog King owner Demetre Theodossis agreeing to work with the
government on their roles in the video poker ring, things are not
looking too good for Medford.
Medford has maintained his innocence stating that he was not guilty of
the video poker charges, but with other defendants agreeing to testify
against him it seems that Medford might want to start on a plea of his
own.
So far, the video poker ring has led to 23 guilty pleas and Theodossis
is only one of two men who are going to avoid the grand jury
indictment despite the roles in the video poker ring.
