Video Poker 247
- Milford Man Admitting Illegal Video Poker
Arthur Gagnon, 56, of 8 Ash Street, Milford, was arrested in reference
to running an illegal video poker establishment. Gagnon was arrested
at the same time as another man, Douglas Bianchi, 60, of Jonesboro,
Maine.
Gagnon has now said that he would like to enter a guilty plea in the
video poker case and will be receiving a reduced sentence because of
it. His sentence will be for misdemeanor gambling charges instead.
The illegal video poker games were being held at the Harley-Sanford
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and police were tipped off to the
location. Gagnon was going to enter his plea but the case was
postponed as the prosecutor has been in the midst of an unrelated
case’s trial.
Bianchi has chosen not to plead guilty to the illegal video poker
charges and will be standing trial next month in Hillsborough County
Superior Court. He will be looking at felony gambling charges if he is
found guilty. He and Gagnon allegedly made illegal payoffs to players
who would play the video poker machines at that location.
With Gagnon now facing a reduced sentence, he will not be looking at
the three and a half to seven years in prison that Bianchi is facing
should he be found guilty. Instead, Gagnon will be looking at two
years on probation, a $2,000 fine, and 200 hours of community service.
He will also receive a one year suspended sentence of jail time which
he will not have to serve as long as he stays out of trouble.
