Video Poker 247
- Town Council Renews Video Poker License
Sanford Town Council has voted to allow video poker machines to
continue. They say that despite a state police investigation that
suggested that there might be illegal payouts from video poker
machines, they have decided that video poker is in their best
interests.
The investigation ended without any busts, so they feel that although
they are still getting questions regarding the video poker regulation,
they think that it is safe to go ahead with it. They say that most of
the concerns come regarding the agency that does the regulation of the
video poker machines, not the machines themselves, so they are
wondering the effectiveness of them instead of the machines.
They decided to draft a new resolution that would clarify the video
poker machine regulations so that it would be clear cut how they
should be used and what the punishments would be for violating the
law. They are also asking the public to tell them what they think
about video poker coming next election.
They have gone ahead and given the Wolves Social Club, Springvale
Social Club and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9935 their video poker
licenses back, with the knowledge that there will be a referendum vote
in November and those regulations will be getting increasingly
stricter. They said that the additional video poker regulations were
the key to getting the other council members to vote yes for the
machines.
