Video Poker 247
- Numerous Law Officials Involved in Video Poker Ring
The federal government has cracked down on illegal video poker
gambling in Western North Carolina, and in doing so they have come
across a myriad of law enforcement officials who are involved in
illegal video poker. They have made more than 30 arrests already, and
they say that before they are done there will still be more to come.
They have released a statement that vaguely alleges that there are
numerous law enforcement officials from various surrounding counties
that were involved in the illegal video poker ring as well. They say
that they have a lot of evidence that points to more people being
involved.
However, they have so far declined to bring illegal video poker
charges against a Henderson County restaurant owner involved in the
scheme. Agents had seized more than $1.8 million from Demetre
Theodossis’ home alone. They also took video poker machines and
business records from his place of business, the Hot Dog King
restaurants. They say that they will not be releasing any further
information regarding the video poker ring, only that which will be
released in court documents.
There are numerous other indictments that have already come through
for other law enforcement personnel, and there will be more to come.
Twenty people charged with illegal video poker have already pled
guilty to the charges against them, and police decline to say where
the investigation will be going from here.
