Video Poker 247
- Mail Carriers Have Video Poker Room
It seems that the mail carriers have been getting in on the video
poker craze – even if it is illegal for them to do so. The police were
curious as to why there were several mail trucks consistently parked
outside of a Westmoreland County convenience store so they chose to
investigate the establishment.
They found that they had four illegal video poker machines and $10,000
which they confiscated on Thursday. The C&T Mini Mart had bee under
investigation for several months before they chose to move in on the
group, and watched the mail carriers playing the video slots not just
illegally, but also when they were on duty.
At the time of the raid two of the video poker players were mail
carriers and two other players were not. The mailmen were even in
their uniforms at the time of the raid. Even though the video poker
games would not have been illegal because they spit out tickets and
not cash, they were illegal because the tickets were then able to be
cashed out.
The video poker machines were marked “For Amusement Only” but they
were being used illegally because they were able to cash out the
tickets there in the store. You had to be invited to play the video
poker machines, and police said that there were two mail carrier names
on the list of those approved to play the games.
