Video Poker 247
- Officer Being Investigated
The officer who shot William Inman, Andrew Lazzaro, is being
investigated for the video poker related shooting. Police had
attempted to serve Inman with a search warrant for suspicion of
running an illegal video poker establishment at Two Trees Pools and
Spas. When police attempted to serve Inman he pulled a gun on the
police in question, which resulted in his shooting.
Investigators say that they used the department’s Special Enforcement
Response Team as Inman was a convicted felon and was known for violent
tendencies. They were also warned that he was armed, and so they were
to use caution. Inman had threatened the police in the past, so in
order to serve the warrant they had to use measures to keep themselves
safe.
Police are not releasing what led to the shooting, but the State
Bureau of Investigation is looking into it to see what might have
occurred. Early reports indicate that Inman pulled his weapon at the
officers when they attempted to search the video poker establishment,
and thus was shot as they attempted to protect themselves.
Inman was released from the hospital where he was taken and is
currently in jail awaiting trial. There were four video poker machine
seized in the raid.
