The fact of the matter is that how you view it depends on which game you like. If you are a slot machine fan, then you will always be a slot machine fan. If you are a poker fan, then you will always be a poker fan. There really is not much mixing and matching between the two types of gamblers.

With video poker machines getting cooler by the moment, there has been a large influx of players from both camps now moving to the video poker machines first, instead of just something to do to waste some time. Many are saying that in some cases they actually prefer the video poker game over their previous favorite game.

However, with all of this newfound interest in video poker, manufacturers are trying to find ways of jazzing the game up to make it even more of a draw for the other camps. There is only one problem with this – before all of those others got so interested in playing the game, there was a dedicated lot of players who liked the video poker games just the way they were.

So now you have the video poker players getting upset because they are trying to change the game on them, and they were basically there first. However, especially in the case of slots players, they want more excitement and the manufacturers want to give it to them. But they must be sure not to alienate their original base or they will end up with fewer players than before.
