- Video Poker Bust in Gaston County
It seems that video poker thought it had found a place to hide in
Gaston County, but it was wrong. The authorities in Gaston County have
decided that they aren’t putting up with illegal video poker anymore
and have started cracking down on the operations.
On Monday night, law enforcement officials raided three separate
illegal video poker gaming establishments. Two of the locations were
on East Franklin Boulevard in Gastonia, and the third was in
Cherryville on Main Street, the name of it was Cherry Sales.
When police raided the place, they found 20 flat screen computers set
up for clients to play illegal video poker. They said that the
operators used the computers to offer video poker and then would pay
them out when they won.
They said that this was just the beginning and that they were not
going to put up with illegal activities any longer. They are going to
be cracking down on all video poker and any other illegal gambling
activities. Both the A.L.E. and the Gaston County Sheriff’s Department
assisted local law enforcement officials with the video poker busts.
