Video Poker 247
- Kentucky Man Involved in Video Poker
A Shelbyville man has found himself on the wrong side of the law, and
it all has to do with video poker machines. Russell Elliott was
arrested in January in regards to some video poker machines that the
police allegedly saw him with.
A trial date has been set for May 12th in regards to the illegal video
poker machines. It appears that Elliott has been accused of trying to
cover up an illegal video poker gambling establishment that was being
run out of a Southern Kentucky business.
Police are accusing him of loading illegal video poker machines into
Pilot Travel Center in Williamsburg. He is being charged with first
degree promoting of gambling, possession of a gambling device,
promoting gambling and possession of a gambling device, and first
degree possession of gambling records and tampering with physical
evidence.
The police are claiming that they found ten illegal video poker
machines as well as $15,000 and gambling records in Elliott’s truck.
While video poker machines are not illegal in the sense that you
cannot possess them as long as they don’t pay, the ones that Elliott
had in his truck were set up to pay out on which made them illegal.
However, undercover officers had been in the establishment earlier in
the day and were able to redeem tickets that they won from the video
poker games for merchandise within the store itself. This makes the
video poker machines illegal per Kentucky law.
