Video Poker 247
- Police Trying to Put End to Video Poker
The police in Burlington have started issuing summons’ for those
involved in illegal video poker. Four convenience store owners have
each been issued one once police discovered that they were in fact
operating illegal video poker machines.
They had received complaints that the owners of the stores were
operating video poker games illegally, and residents were urging them
to shut them down. After a month long investigation, police were able
to ascertain and confirm that they were running illegal video poker
businesses.
Once they had confirmation, the police got search warrants and seized
computers, monitors, card readers, and cash, and issued each of the
business owners a summons regarding the illegal use of video poker
machines. Jerry Boggs of West Webb Curb Market, Deepak Gurung of C.V.
Mart, Gopal Parikh of Tommy’s Mini Mart and Ilesh Shah of I.H. Food
Mart were all served.
In addition, Michael Todd Jordan of Ashland Drive in Burlington was
also issued a summons as he was the one who provided the illegal video
poker machines to the businesses. The police said that the raid
“should serve as a warning” to anyone else considering running an
illegal video poker business. They say that anyone else discovered
doing so will be prosecuted as well.
