Video Poker 247
- Video Poker Robbery Leads to Murder
James Rose, 45, has been sentenced to life in prison for murdering
Reginald Dent, 36. The New York man shot and killed Dent, of
Wilmington, in May of 2006.
Supposedly, Rose claims that Dent got shot during a drug deal that
went wrong, but no one is buying his story. It turns out that Dent was
running a video poker operation under the guise of “Jerry’s Furniture
Refinishing.” It is not known how many customers Dent had at the video
poker establishment as none were present during the shooting.
Prosecutors believe that Rose killed Dent over the video poker
machines instead. Dent worked at the 17th and Market Street video
poker establishment, which is where he was killed.
They believe that Rose was attempting to rob Dent at his video poker
business, and shot him in the process of the robbery. Rose will not be
eligible for parole while in prison. Prosecutors say that without
other testimony or proof there is no way to know if there was truly a
drug deal involved, but they are skeptical of Rose's claims.
