Video Poker 247
- Payback Percentages
When you play the video poker machines at a casino or online, you have
to take note of what game you are playing as the payback percentages
differ depending on the machine that you are currently playing. Each
machine is set up to payout a certain amount of a period of time, but
how you play the video poker machine has as much to do with that final
figure as the payout itself.
If you aren’t playing the max number of coins for the machine, you are
not taking advantage of the video poker machine’s payback percentages.
According to John Robison, every video poker machine has a long term
payback percentage on it – and that amount is predicated on the idea
that you are playing the max number of coins.
Now this does not meant that you have to play the max number of coins
every time you play the game, but it does mean that you should avoid
some video poker machines depending on the type if you aren’t going to
play the max.
You are going to want to avoid progressive video poker games with
bonus multipliers as well as tiered-progressive games where winning
the jackpot is only possible if you play the max number of coins.
The number of coins that you play will not have any effect on the
reels that come up, but it will determine how much you get paid on
those reels. The probabilities don’t change, but the amounts of
payback do.
The problem is that most players don’t know the payback percentage for
their video poker games, so they don’t really know what their options
are.
