When you were a kid, there were all kinds of things that you loved to
do, and for younger generations, that pretty much includes video
gaming. Then when they grow up, they try and decide what they can do
to replace that love of video gaming, and experts have found that many
turn to video poker instead.
According to experts, children can get easily hooked on video gaming,
and then when they grow up it becomes a much more serious addiction to
games like video poker. Instead of playing for fun, now they are
playing for money – which only adds to the desire to play.
They say that the similarities between video games and video poker is
frightening, and is leading a whole generation down the path to
addiction. They say that if your child has been playing to the point
where they are excluding friends and family, and they don’t want to go
outside anymore, they are probably on the road to addiction.
Once they are addicted to a video game, as they grow up they start
playing that same video game only in the form of video poker instead.
The addiction is stronger for these types because they have been
allowed to feed it for so long, in that no one saw the real dangers
behind it.
In fact, the American Psychiatric Association is trying to decide if
video gaming addiction should be included in their 2012 National
Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. If your child
is showing signs of being addicted get them help before it is too late
to do anything about the video poker addiction that will surely
follow.
