- Illegal Video Poker Bust of Tampered Machines
Not only were the video poker machines illegal, but they were also
tampered with – making them illegal to be run even if they weren’t
already illegal by state law. The state seized roughly $2 million in
the bust of the illegal video poker machines at local bars, as well as
several video poker machines.
If you have played video poker games recently in Montgomery or
Delaware County, you will not be happy to know that the machines were
tampered with so that they player would lose, and not win on the
machines.
The prosecution said that James Connelly of JC Vending Company
distributed the illegal video poker machines. They said that as you
played the machines points would be taken off from any winning hands.
They say that the both the bar owners and the vending machine company
are responsible for the illegal video poker machines, as well as the
tampering of them. Charges have not been filed as of yet, but several
businesses are going to be facing corruption and gambling charges for
running the illegal video poker machines.
They say that the video poker machines were set up in a way that
practically guaranteed a losing situation for the majority of players,
and that the odds were much worse than you would see in a major
casino. They say that players were going to fail at playing the video
poker machines no matter what they did.
