Video Poker 247
- How Shuffle Master Could Improve
Shuffle Master has been steadily declining for some time, and although
many hoped that they would turn it around it does not seem that this
is the case. With Tom Gardner pulling the plug on the company last
week, it seems that there is really no where to go but up.
Shuffle Master has been in the business long enough to create an
excellent name for itself, and many consider them to be the be all and
end all of table games. The company has probably the best automatic
shuffling machines out there, and four out of five of the top
producing games on the market. Even with problems here and there, they
are still a top performer for the market.
If another company such as Bally or WMS were to step in and take over
the company, there is a good chance that they could completely turn
the stock around and get it performing at top numbers again. Both
companies could stand to gain the electronic table games that they
would get with such a merger, since they are both at a disadvantage
currently behind IGT and Aristocrat.
They could also use the electronic poker tables that would come with
the deal, especially with IGT unveiling their latest one at G2E this
year. Shuffle Master has Lightning Poker, which is hands down going to
be one of the best electronic poker tables out there.
There is also video poker, which WMS could seriously benefit from. WMS
has some video poker options, but IGT still holds as king of video
poker for now. WMS also has the exclusive license of Harrah’s World
Series of Poker Brand to bring to the video poker table, but on their
own they still won’t be able to pull IGT’s customers away from them.
