Video Poker 247
- Candidate Giving Up Video Poker
John Georges is known for having done very well in the 1990’s in the
video poker industry, but now he says that he is done with all of
that. He says that if he is elected governor of Louisiana, he will
walk away from video poker and Dolphin Marine International. The video
poker king says that the state means much more to him than all of
that.
All of the candidates for governor have said the same thing, but
Georges leads the pack with roughly 40 companies to his and his
families’ names. He says that Imperial Trading Co. is the only thing
that he will keep as it is in his children’s names. It is a $500
million wholesale grocer that sells pretty much everything you could
need.
He says he will keep some of his investments as well, but he says that
Dolphin Marine will either be sold or it will go public. He is no
longer President of the company, but still owns it. But others want to
know how he can say he is walking away from video poker when he still
basically owns them as he is self-financing the sales from them.
Georges sold all of his video poker companies before qualifying for
the governor’s race, and is still owed the majority of the money from
those sales. His video poker companies were led by AMA Distributors,
who sells video poker machines. The other candidates say that since
Georges is still owed the video poker money, he is still in the
business.
