Video Poker 247
- Betting on Saipan
In November, voters are going to be asked to vote on whether or not
they want to approve the Saipan Casino Initiative, which many people
are opposed to. They say that the addition of video poker and other
gambling games will be seriously detrimental to the area, and that it
is a vote that should be taken quite seriously before voters pass it.
The opposition is concerned with the number of video poker and
gambling addicts that will come from passing the initiative, and
rightfully so. They say that bringing in casino operations such as
these will change the face of the area and should be planned out
slowly and deliberately so that they don’t end up with a mess on their
hands.
With all the estimations of revenue that have been thrown around, some
want independent accountants to review the facts and figures so that
the money that will be purportedly received by the government is a
little closer to what it actually will be. They say that they are
against “pie in the sky” numbers that don’t have any foundation in
reality.
They say that people are counting their dollars instead of looking at
not only the number of addicts that will come from this, but also all
of the other unpredictability that will undoubtedly follow. They say
that before people vote on the issue and allow video poker and other
forms of gambling, they must weigh the pros and cons carefully as once
it is legalized; it will be much harder to get rid of it.
